Howff tae Hip Hop is a subjective history of the Edinburgh Music Scene.
So much good music has come out of Edinburgh. This is a history of popular music in the city from 1960 to 2011. It ranges from the founding of the Howff folk club in the early Sixties to the rappers who perform in the Medina club today.
The focus is on Rock, Pop, Folk, Glam, Punk, New Wave, Electronica, Hip Hop and those downright weird individuals you can’t quite categorise, but who keep the clubs and pubs buzzing.
It includes the stories of the bands and critical reviews of the music they played.
There are full personnel listings and discographies of over 420 bands and musicians.
Howff Tae Hip Hop was published in April 2013, is 268 pages long, and can be downloaded from the Apple iBooks store.
